Potions Dungeon - See me if you dare!

You shall address me as Professor Snape. I will be teaching you the art of potion making. Not too many are fond of it, nor good at it *glares at Gryffindors*, you have no choice but to be here. I tolerate neither goofiness nor idiocy in my classes. I shall teach you everything you need to know.

Trivial things to know for my potions class:
1
1 parchment = half page of a Ms Words (A4) document (1 paragraph spacing)
2
A diligent person works least to achieve most. My 'O's goes to those who can impress me with the least said.

Homework is up. I must emphasize again that although I encourage imaginations and your enthusiasm in sharing your personal experiences with Potions, please do not turn your senses down to the facts which are actually out there. In short, get your facts right before you start a train long story with nothing but nonsense.

Lesson 5 is up. Side note that I will be extremely busy in the coming weeks, so any homework passed up after today will most probably be graded 2 / 3 weeks later. Don't think of passing up late, because I will still check the date you submitted your homework, if it passed the due date, I will not grade it as well.

Hmm, good that to see no one is lingering around anymore. For once, you're already in the classroom without me glaring. I can see you all excited for the fourth lesson...

On Homework 2: Trolls of Dissapointment
I guess many of you were thrilled when I mentioned I preferred the shorter the better, but you did not heed my latter part of emphasis – which is the quality. Most of you presented short enough with practically no points in your homework, but I decided to let it go lenient this time as it was your first experience with me.

The ‘terrible price’ was commonly defined as cursed life by most of you, very few of you bother to allow that lazy brain of yours turn and work a bit for the elaboration, or perhaps present opinions of what a cursed life is like. In short, most of your homework is only worth a sentence, and a very short meaningless one that is - Unicorns are beautiful magical creatures. The rest are practically unnecessary crap.

Tips to knowing how good a quality of your work: After finishing your work, pretend that you’re studying for exam and highlighting key points to memorize, which would you highlight and which would you forego? Is most of your homework highlighted / foregone? My outstanding goes to the ones most highlighted because then it is concise – brief with quality.

Now, head over the DoF to read on the homework which I have grade as Outstanding. If you totally deserved an ‘O’ (quoted from someone’s comment I came over), then I would have granted it wouldn’t I (and spared you a stinking ‘E’ – perhaps a rotten T would smell better for the coming homework?)? *Glares at a certain Ravenclaw* As expected, none of you have achieved my Exceptionally Outstanding level. *smirk smugly*

Now, get into the potions dungeon, lesson 4 is about to commence - our lesson has been delayed much as it is as I had to send a certain handsomely injured professor of yours to the hospital wing, which also conviniently becomes our rather interesting subject of study today.

As I wasn't aware of the Student ID privacy matter, I had posted some of the student's ID out. However, I've taken them down now. Therefore, the BoH / PoH will also be awarded to names only, without their ID. Sorry to all who's been affected by my mistake.

Some of you may find it hard to read my updates when they exceed the length limit of this Hogwarts page. As the coding is done by different people, I did not foresee this trouble. Anyway, you still can view my past updates (if you've just came online now to realize them), by highlighing the words while dragging you mouse downwards. Other pages, shouldn't have this problem as I have designed them in a way you can click on the link to go to each and every updated portion with no problem (use the link and the back to top arrow to navigate).

The Dungeon of Fame (DoF) is now opened at the end Grade's alley. Students with exceptionally outstanding & outstanding homework will have their names & student ID carved on the Plate of Honor (PoH). They will also be individually awarded an honorary badge. Their homework will be published on the walls of the DoF as well. Besides excellent homework, those who’ve in one way or another radiated their brilliance in potions (e.g. asking an outstanding question / dynamic& constructive participation in class discussion –> my dungeon & potions section in the great hall) will also have the chance to place their name on the PoH. In other words, if I come over any posts / messages (even though not directed at me) concerning Potions which I deem as quality material, I will post them into DoF.

On the contrary, I was very tempted to open another dungeon just across DoF, to be Dungeon of Shame, DoS. It took quite my entire mercy to refrain myself from doing so. However, if I am further presented with homework deserving to be 'honored' in DoS, I will not hesitate it. *thin evil grin*

You can find my full reply to your question in the Great Hall (click here).

You've been excused, I expect you to work harder from this lesson onwards.

To Tessa & Liz (Outstandings for Homework #1), if you still keep a copy of your homework #1, do owl them to me your to be published on DoF.

As all students may be aware of, there has been some handover for Potions class, thus the delay in the second homework. It is now up, with the extra credits as well. However, I just want to remind those dreaming that I may be a nicer Snape to have an icy splash of water because, Severus Snape is never nice (exceptions to my few favorite pets).

I would like to stress here that I believe in the quality, not the quantity of work. A diligent person works least to achieve most. My 'O's goes to those who can impress me with the least said. Therefore, you are reminded to keep tightly to the limits I set for my homework, because over the limit, I'll take points off your houses as my 'pay' to work more.
